Phoenix Target Rifle Club
About us
The Phoenix Target Rifle Club was formed by the amalgamation of two clubs that used to shoot on the Dean Range at Port Adelaide. The two clubs were the Adelaide Rifle Club and the Port Adelaide Rifle Club. These clubs, which were both 100 years old, joined together in 2002 shortly before the Dean Range was closed and all of the metropolitan rifle clubs moved to the new range at Lower Light, approx. 40km north of Adelaide.
ACTIVITIES
The club conducts long range target shooting most Saturday afternoons over ranges from 300m to 900m. The Lower Light Range also has provision for Match Rifle competitions back to 1100m. For those with a love of technology and who prefer to use telescopic sights, there is also a class for these rifles (known as F-Class) and the club conducts competitions in this discipline.
